316L stainless steel
The majority of our collection is made of 316L stainless steel, which makes the jewelry very robust and waterproof, but we still recommend that you protect these pieces of jewelry from salt and chlorine-containing water, as well as from cosmetics containing sulfur, so that you can enjoy them for a long time.
925 silver
Silver has the property that it reacts with oxygen over time (oxidizes); it tarnishes and turns black. This is not a question of quality but a normal chemical reaction.
Silver jewelry usually polishes itself through wear and the associated friction with clothing and skin. However, some cosmetics (e.g. those containing sulfur) can cause the silver to tarnish. Silver jewelry should also not be worn in chlorinated water or salt water. If the jewelry is not worn for a long time, it is advisable to store it in an airtight container.
To clean your jewelry, only use a soft cloth. Often, rubbing with a microfiber cloth is enough to remove light dirt. Your jewelry should always be cleaned individually, otherwise stones could destroy each other and the pieces of jewelry could suffer major and irreparable damage due to friction against each other.
Do not use any cleaning agents or solutions to clean the jewelry, as these chemicals can damage the valuable metal.
copper with gold alloy
Copper is said to have been the first metal that people used to make jewelry. If copper is coated with a protective layer, it retains its shine just like the material used to finish it, in our case gold.
Gold-plated jewelry only has a layer of gold alloy on the surface. Gold-plated jewelry can be cleaned dry by gently polishing it with a soft cloth, or alternatively by soaking it in a bath of mild, lukewarm soapy water. Avoid vigorous rubbing to avoid damaging the gold-plated surface. When cleaning with water, rinse the jewelry with clean water, pat dry and carefully polish with a soft silver cleaning cloth.
pearls
Some pieces of jewelry are set with pearls. Pearls are natural products from the sea and can therefore be worn while swimming on the beach without any problems, but they do not tolerate chlorinated water well and should therefore not be taken into the pool.
zirconia
Zirconia are synthetic crystals. They are made from zirconium oxide and can come into contact with water without any concerns.
enamel
Since enamel is nothing other than glass, basically any enamel surface can be rubbed with a damp cloth. In addition, these pieces should be stored separately in the jewelry box .
Similar to classic jewelry, enamel jewelry does not like cosmetic or care products such as creams, perfumes or hairspray. The same goes for chemicals. It is therefore best to take these pieces of jewelry off when doing housework or gardening. The same applies if you are a lover of water activities or saunas. Water (salty and sweet), hot water and direct sunlight all contribute to faster wear of the glass layer.
Caution! Enamelled objects must never be placed in a silver dip. Silver polishing agents or silver cleaning cloths are also unsuitable. Treatments of this kind will damage the enamel.
Even jewelry made of stainless steel or gold-plated copper requires some care and attention. To ensure that you can enjoy our jewelry for as long as possible, please note the following care tips:
• Pack your jewelry as dry and sealed as possible.
• Protect your Cala Rose jewelry from cosmetics that contain sulfur (often found in shampoos, shower gels or cleaning products).
• If possible, remove your jewelry before showering and bathing and avoid contact with chlorinated and salty water (sea water, swimming pool).
• Be careful with perfumes, they contain a high alcohol content, if possible do not spray them near your jewelry.
• If your jewelry has oxidized, a silver polishing cloth will help, as friction removes the tarnished areas.
